BACDS December 2015 Electronic Mailing

BACDS sponsors English and American traditional dances in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is fun, relatively easy, community-oriented dancing with live music. All dances are taught, no partner is necessary, and first-timers are welcome unless otherwise noted.

No Snow Ball

Don't miss the 29th annual No Snow Ball! For the first time ever, we'll have contras and waltzes going on at the same time in two ballrooms! Happening on Sunday from 6-10 this year, it will be at Lake Merrit Dance Center, where the very first No Snow was held 28 years ago!

Palo Alto Contra New Year's Eve

Finish out 2015 with good cheer and good dancing at the Palo Alto Contra. Ring out the old year and waltz in the new to the music of StringFire (Erik Ievins, Patti Cobb, and James MacQueen). Calling by Lynn Ackerson. Happy New Year!

Morris Winter Traditions Day of Dance

Saturday, January 23, 2016, Sunnyvale and Mountain View

Bay Area and Southern California Various morris teams join to present border morris, molly, sword dancing and perhaps a mummers' play near Murphy Street in downtown Sunnyvale, and at the CPA and Caltrain station in Mountain View.  Check the Mad Molly Morris Facebook page for times and exact locations.

Bruce Hamilton offers a workshop for beginning and intermediate English Country Dancers, with a focus on being a good partner. This workshop will help you review and learn all the major figures, including heys and double figure-eights, and learn to let the music guide your dancing.

Are you a member of BACDS?  If you are, does your membership expire soon?  Has it already expired?  If you aren't a member, why not?  Dues are $25/year, $40 for 2 people at the same street address, and are good for discounts at dances (usually $2 off the regular admission price, special events may be different).  Add a student family member for $15/year.  Not sure of your status? email membership@bacds.org.
