The Daily Schedule offers opportunities to hone our skills in expertly taught classes and to share our own expertise during camper-led workshops. Between classes, find rest and relaxation, singing and laughter around the perpetual campfire at the Back Porch.
- Warm-up & Stretch gently each morning before breakfast or, commune with other early risers around the campfire while sipping your first latte, prepared at the Fa-So-La Café
- Contradance in the morning, the afternoon and in the evening after suppertime. Be on your toes for Becky Hill's 'Bodacious Beckets' and 'Potpourri' of unusual formations, and poised for the sublime pleasure of Erik Weberg's lyrical styling.
- Continuing the “Quest for the Perfect Waltz”, Valerie Williams will teach the original Viennese Waltz, as well as review and elaborate on variations in rotary and cross-step repertoire. Further investigations into Twentieth Century Dance will solve mysteries of Swing and Salsa and enliven Polka basics.
- Embrace the “The Tao of Teaching” and the Zen of “Putting It All Together”. An activity for callers and dancers, join experienced and skilled callers in Caller's Forum. New callers, find your voices during Open Mic/Open Band.
- Kalia Kliban will provide perfect recipes for Old-Time Clogging. Add a pinch of rhythm, a dash of percussion, and a sprinkle of improvisation. Mix well into other dance forms and prepare to feast.
- What makes a good dance? Interesting Choreography. Study the Anatomy of a Contra Dance with Bob Isaacs, dissect the formal parts, and then stitch them all together again, into your own unique composition.
- Sing thrilling roots music from American traditions and from cultures around the world. Seth Houston will lead songs that sparkle with lovely harmonies, groove with great rhythms, and capture the soul.
- Experience the challenge of “Exploding Squares”? Finesse Hambo footwork? Discover Secrets of the Sound System? Morph contras into English dances? Designed for spur-of-the-moment camper-led workshops and one-day intensives, Grab Bag is class time for sharing talents, teaching skills, and hosting discussions.
- In the afternoons, expect the unexpected: parties, crafts, swimming in the river or exploring with a Woodlands naturalist. Luxuriate with a massage, peruse the well-stocked 24/7 Bookstore, scour The Grande Marché clothing boutique or scrutinize the paperback library.
- Discover Wee Hours Shenanigans at the Rock'n Roadhouse; prepare your mind to revisit the colorful Age of Aquarius; preen for the elegance of Black and White; vie with other Bogglers and Scrabblers; unravel tall tales and tunes by the licks of the campfire. Or…?
