Improper English is an English country dance series committed to gender-neutral (positional) calling. Improper English runs every 2nd Tuesday, just down the street from BACDS’ usual Berkeley Hall. Sliding scale admission, $5–$25. Note that masking (KN-95 or better) is required for all dancers. A beginners’ lesson will be held at 6:50, all are welcome.

San Francisco Folk Music Club Camp Harmony 12/30 thru 1/4!
You are invited to attend Camp Harmony, a folk music & dance camp hosted by the San Francisco Folk Music Club at Camp Newman, nestled between Santa Rosa and Calistoga. The camp runs from Tuesday, December 30, 2025, through Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Camp Harmony is a joyous gathering featuring:
Daily workshops in Irish set/ceili dance and English country dance
Evening dances including Irish, English, contra, swing, Breton, and Balkan
Lots of acoustic music jams and singing circles plus open mikes
One special thing about Camp Harmony—besides the incredible dancing, music-making, and camaraderie—is that it’s the only camp we know of where you can attend and pay for only as many days as you’d like. Whether you come for a full week or just one night, we'd love to see you!
