PlayFood: Deviled Ham Toasts

"Lord Carnivore's Pig"
From The Book of Afternoon Tea. Credit for the
name goes to Barbara Slone.

1/4 pound lean cooked ham
1 T Worcestershire sauce
cayenne pepper to taste
2 tsp Dijon-style mustard
toasted cracker rounds (garlic, onion, or whatever)
pimento-stuffed olives, sliced

With a sharp knife, chop ham very finely, or mince. In a bowl, mix
together ham, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne and mustard. Spread ham
mixture over cracker circles. Top each with an olive slice.
Alisa's notes: The original recipe used buttered rounds of toast instead of
crackers, and the whole thing was to be served hot (after mixing the
spread with some melted butter). I don't remember how much of this I
made.
Yield: 12 2-inch circles
