Location:
The Ball is located at the Piedmont Veterans Memorial Hall, 401 Highland Avenue, Piedmont, CA 94611, about a mile and a quarter northeast of I-580 and the Oakland Avenue exit (about half way between I-580 and California Hwy 13), right next to Piedmont Park. The facility has restrooms (whew!), a kitchen with refrigeration, changing areas in the restrooms, as well as some very nice surroundings and city views. Oh yes, there's a dance floor, too!
Remember, you'll have to take a break between the end of the workshop at 5p and the start of singing at 7:30p. Fortunately, there is dining and grocery stores (including maps/directions if you're not familiar with the area) as well as other neighborhood items.
Just be sure to make it back in time for singing!
Suggested Directions (you can also just check this Yahoo interactive area map):
From I-580: Take I-580 north from Hayward or south from Berkeley to the Oakland Avenue exit going towards Piedmont. Take Oakland Avenue up the hill (about 1.25 miles) to Highland Avenue, turn right a go a short distance to the hall. Parking is on the street.
From San Francisco: Take I-80 across the bridge to I-580 East (towards Hayward/Stockton), then as above.
From the Peninsula: Take your bridge of choice over to I-880 and head north. Take I-880 into Oakland to I-980, to I-580 south, and follow as above.
From CA-13: Take CA-13 to the Moraga exit. Take Moraga down the hill about a mile to Highland Avenue and turn left. Go about a half mile on Highland to the hall. Parking is on the street.
