Warren Blier with Sorceror’s Apprentice (Lee Anne Welch with Daniel Steinberg, Erik Hoffman, and their students) This very unusual band includes fiddlers ranging in age from 9 and up, all enjoying the interactive experience of playing for a dance. Dance musicians get energy from the dancers just like dancers get energy from the music. It's the kind of feedback we all like! We're very fortunate in the Bay Area to have some of the best dance musicians in the entire country, right in our neighborhood. Those wonderful musicians all started out somewhere, and this is one of the ways they get hooked on the great fun of playing for dancers. Come witness and encourage The Next Generation of contradance musicians!

Vanessa, who died somewhat unexpectedly last November, had been publicity coordinator for many years, but her service to BACDS included being on the Board, co-managing Fall Weekend for many years, serving on the committees of the Playford Ball and English Week, dancing with Mayfield Morris and dancing - and later, drumming - for Mad Molly. We'll share memories in the first part of the afternoon, then have display dance performances mingled with English and contra dances, concluding with a potluck supper before the contra.
