Hayward Contra welcomes everyone to our monthly 4th Sunday contra dance.

We are SUPER LUCKY to have 2 musicians who are like “rock stars” in the contra world to play live music for our dance. Audrey Knuth is a world-renowned fiddler who plays in many bands (Wake Up Robin, Gaslight Tinkers, Free Raisins, Root System, Audacious) and Max Newman is the incredible genius behind the guitar (The Stringrays, Nor’Easter, etc) and together, their music will make your feet tap, your skirts swirl, and smiles will be hard to stop. Claire Takemori who is known for a warm welcome, clear teaching, and a varied program will be calling the dances.

Everyone is very welcome, regardless of ability to donate. Please take care of yourself first; if you are able, donations benefit the musicians 100%. They will split tips.

“Video meeting” TIPS:

Due to a recent security issue, we have changed our meeting operations for your safety and comfort. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

We will MUTE ALL (and you can't unmute) during the dancing. Raise your hand or send a CHAT message if you need help.

If we have a security concern, you will be asked while in the waiting room to answer 2 questions by texting to a phone number. If you do not text, you will not be admitted.

You will not be allowed to rename yourself; you might want to set your name before joining the meeting. Feel free to private chat a moderator with your name change request.

If you have issues with internet, Stop your video. Use the "video meeting" App not the browser. Close ALL other apps on your device. Connect to internet with ethernet cable. Connect to power on your device, running on battery can slow functions.

You can "CHAT" with everyone and private chat with friends.
