Scott Higgs Scott Higgs loves to help dancers discover fresh opportunities for delight. In 25 years of teaching, he has invigorated experienced dancers from Seattle to Antwerp, composed dozens of original dances, and introduced countless neophytes to the joys of English country dance. In addition to teaching country dance classes, Scott will conduct a workshop for dance leaders.

Gary Roodman Gary Roodman discovered English and American dancing in 1976 at Pinewoods Camp and it changed his life forever. He has been teaching country dancing ever since, and in 1982 began writing English- and contra-style dances. He now has six books in his Calculated Figures series and two CDs of music for his dances featuring the bands MGM and Reunion. Gary's dances are being done across the U.S. and Canada, and, he has heard, in Europe and Japan.

Jody McGeen We welcome Mendocino veteran Jody McGeen back to English Dance Week. The founder of Mayfield Morris and Sword and a favorite Bay Area teacher, Jody started dancing and teaching in New York, where she taught with Genevieve Shimer, Sue Salmons, and Christine Helwig. She has been on staff teaching English country dancing at both Pinewoods Camp and Berea Christmas School.

Judy Erickson Judy Erickson is currently foreman of the internationally-acclaimed Orion Longsword and past member of Muddy River Morris. She has served on the English-Scottish Session program committee, been a camper at many Pinewoods sessions and has been on staff for several Pinewoods weeks, both with CDSS and CDS-Boston Centre. Her compelling and evocative choreographies for longsword, blending American movement and musical themes with traditional elements, are revolutionizing the genre. We are fortunate to have her at English Week this summer and delighted to have her teach a special workshop in display dance choreography.

Kalia Kliban Morris dancer and clogger Kalia Kliban, whose patient and humorous teaching style has made her a favorite with new dancers, has been teaching at camps and festivals in California since 1994. Kalia has danced with numerous Bay Area display teams and is the co-founder and forema'am of Apple Tree Morris in Sebastopol, CA, as well as a performer with On The Spot (English clog) and Swords Of Gridlock (rapper).
