Berkeley contra at GNC, with the redoubtable Erik Hoffman calling, to hot tunes by The Earls (Ray Bierl, Alan Senauke and Marty Cutler) .
The San José English dance at SJS--Jody McGeen and Alisa Dodson lead the dance, Greenwich Mean Time (Vaughn Wolff, Kay Thorne, Stanley and Susan Kramer) provide the tunes.
Friday, May 7
Yes, it's a first Friday, and that means there's an English dance at downtown Palo Alto's MT. Tonight we have series host Bob Fraley, with music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer)

Saturday, May 8
The SF English dance at BET starts at 7:30, with Bob Fraley and music by Charlie Hancock, Mark Carroll and Kathrine Gardner.
Palo Alto Contra at PA. Eric Black (Tokyo) calls this evening, with the wonderful band Sidesaddle (Lee Anne Welch, Jerry Ashford, Kim Elking, Beth McNamara, & Dave Ristrom) serving up the tunes.
Sunday, May 9
& East Bay Square and Contras at ECV... Jim Saxe is your caller, music by The Earls (Ray Bierl, Alan Senauke and Marty Cutler) , and the dancing begins at 7pm.
Wednesday, May 12
The second Wednesday Berkeley English country dance at GNC. Series host David Newitt calls, with music provided by Craig Johnson, Danny Carnahan and Avis Minger.
Friday, May 14
The Berkeley contra at FIN--Kirston Koths calls, with fine Irish tunes by Tipsy House (Jack Gilder, Chris Knepper and Junji Shirota).
Saturday, May 15
The SF contra at, well, SF. Charlie Fenton is your caller, music by the fine trio of WB Reid, Kathrine Gardner and Paul Kotapish.
Wednesday, May 19
English dance in downtown San José: at SJS, to be exact. Jody McGeen leads the dances. Music by Greenwich Mean Time (Vaughn Wolff, Kay Thorne, Stanley and Susan Kramer).
And in Berkeley, the 3rd Wednesday contra takes place at GNC. Erik Hoffman calls, with music by an Open Band lead by Chris Knepper, Paul Kotapish and Kyle Thayer.
Friday, May 21
A very special contradance benefit at SF to help long-time BACDS musician Gregory Wilson cover medical costs. The dance is from 7 to 11pm, sliding scale, and features Charlie Fenton and the The Contrabandits (Kathrine Gardner, Chris Knepper, Charlie Hancock, and Kit Nelson)

Palo Alto contra at PA, Charlie Fenton calls, with music by a hot duo from the East: Larry Unger and Elke Baker.
The East Bay experienced English dance at GNC--Lise Dyckman calls, with mellifluous music by David Strong, Mark Carroll and Dick Bagwell. The theme for this month--"Rule Brittania".
Sunday, May 23
& An East Bay square/contra to remember, as Jim Saxe, series host, calls to the music of Larry Ungar and Elke Baker. It all starts at 7pm.

There's dancing every Wendesday at GNC in Berkeley, and tonight, we close out May for the East Bay with the calling of Lise Dyckman and the wonderful English country dance tunes of Chuck Ward, David Strong and David Newitt.
