I accept a scholarship position for BACDS English week! I realize that I will need to arrive early to camp on July 11th to help set up (as outlined below), as well as stay after the closing of camp on July 18. I am willing to help with daily bathroom cleaning and/or other pre-arranged specialty tasks (e.g. Sound Equipment operation, Dance Hall Floor maintenance). In addition, I will assist in some way with one social event during the week.
Dear Crew Members:
Our work scholarships require one to two hours a day of
camp work, as well as early arrival AND late departure from camp. Please
note that your work may require you to miss a class. You may also need to be
available for one or two short meetings during the week. Most scholarships
involve daily cleaning of bathrooms (using unscented, natural cleaning
products) and helping out at a social event. Work scholarship recipients are
exempt from the regular camper chores (usually 20−30 minutes per day)
performed by other campers.
Please arrive at camp by 1 pm on Saturday, July 11th in order to be settled in and ready to work on camp set up by 2 pm. Assemble promptly at 2 pm in front of the camp house (near the registration table) to get your camp set-up assignments. Campers will begin arriving by 4 pm and there’s a lot to do to get camp ready for them.
Plan on staying in camp after breakfast on Saturday, July 18th, to help clean up camp and load all of our gear into the truck. We should be finished around noon, and will need to vacate the camp shortly thereafter.
Im glad we are able to help you attend English Week this
year, and hope your scholarship camp experience will be a good one. Please contact
me if you have questions or concerns about your scholarship work. If you need
to cancel for any reason, please let me know as soon as possible. I look forward
to seeing you at camp!
Sincerely,
Christine Gile
