Youth Scholarships

Amazing Jaeger in longsword classThe Bay Area Country Dance Society will offer several ‘Youth’ Scholarships for campers age 18-30 who demonstrate community leadership potential in display or country dance, music or song.

We cover about half the fee ($455) and you or your local group provides the remainder ($450). If you provide the balance, you may request work-trade to cover $295 of that balance. The application includes a section to be completed by a representative of your local group.

If you are interested in this scholarship, approach your local group with the information and youth scholarship application form (the group must apply on your behalf).

If you are a group leader/organizer with a young adult in your community who demonstrates community leadership potential in dance, music or song, let them know about the camp and the scholarship and help them with the application process.

To apply for a Youth Scholarship, print the youth scholarship application form (available in January PDF).

The sponsoring group must:

  • Fill out the top part of the scholarship application form
  • Include a letter of recommendation supporting the application

The applicant must:

  • Fill out the second half of the scholarship application form

Submit both the PDF youth scholarship application (with sponsoring group’s support letter) and a Hey Days registration form from the registration page (either a PDF to print and mail or an online form) or use the registration form in the brochure. Make sure to check the Youth Scholarship box on the registration form.

The camp lottery deadline (in case of oversubscription) is March 17 (postmarked), so make sure to submit your application in time for the lottery. We will notify you in April.

We may accept applicants age 15-17 on a case-by-case basis if a guardian is available and space permits.
