Wednesday, November 4
Start the month with the marvelous San José English dance at SJS, with Jody McGeen and Alan Winston leading you in the dance to the fine music of Greenwich Mean Time (Kay Thorne, Vaughn Wolff, Susan and Stanley Kramer).

...And in Berkeley at GNC, the Wednesday contra holds forth with Erik Hoffman calling to an Open Band led by the Grizzly Sisters (Laurie Chastain, Margo Leslie, Debra Tayleur).

Friday, November 6
The Palo Alto English dance, downtown, at MT. Series host Bob Fraley and special guest Lise Dyckman teach, music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer, Mark Daly, Paul Koska) .

Saturday, November 7
The first Saturday in November, so it's time for the SF contra at SF... genial Charlie Fenton calling to the music of those viviparous and cheap-to-feed The Guppies (Kathrine Gardner, Jim Oakden and Craig Johnson).

Sunday, November 8
& The East Bay Square/Contra dance rockets off at 7pm at ECV, and features the wonderful Kate Charles from Baltimore calling to the music of Robin Flower and Libby McLaren.

Wednesday, November 11
English country on Veterans' Day--the Berkeley English dance at GNC, with David Newitt and Alan Winston calling, and music by Judy Linsenberg, David Strong and Craig Johnson.

Friday, November 13
If it's Friday the 13th, it has to be a Berkeley contra--this one with Kirston Koths and music by the fabulous The Contrabandits (Kathrine Gardner, Chris Knepper, Charlie Hancock, and Kit Nelson) .

Saturday, November 14
In Palo Alto, the 2nd Saturday dance at PA with Kimberly McKittrick calling, and music by the trio of Kevin Carr, Lee Anne Welch and Rebecca King...

while in SF, at 7:30pm at BET, series host Anise Feldman calls to the music of David Mostardi, Laurie Edelman and Craig Johnson (the other series host).

Wednesday, November 18
Berkeley contra, at GNC, with caller Erik Hoffman and an Open Band led by Chuck Aronson and friends.

and in San José, the English dance at SJS has Jody McGeen and Alisa Dodson calling, to the sublime music of Greenwich Mean Time (Kay Thorne, Vaughn Wolff, Susan and Stanley Kramer).

Friday, November 20
Well, it's not listed on the calendar, but there will be a Palo Alto English dance at MT, with Bob Fraley calling and music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer, Mark Daly, Paul Koska) .

Saturday, November 21
BACDS' 3rd Annual Fall Ball starts off at SMM with a practice of the evening's dances, 2:30 to 5:30pm, with David Newitt calling and Ruth Anne Fraley and friend.$18 at door/$15 advance covers practice and the evening dance. Then...

"Ask not for Hume the dance calls..." The Fall Ball, featuring the dances of Colin Hume (and other favorites). Bob Fraley leads the dances, with music by Charlie Hancock, Jim Oakden, Stan Kramer and Danny Carnahan. $18 at door.

For contradance diehards, BACDS also offers the regular San Francisco contra at SF, with Erik Hoffman calling to the music of Québecquasi (Kevin Carr, John Hamstra, Caroline Cirimele, Barbara Mendelsohn, Laurie Rivin, Daniel Steinberg).

Sunday, November 22
and It's the East Bay Square/Contra at ECV. Jim Saxe calls, to the music of Open Band featuring dotGals (Susan Sullivan, Karen Warrick, Kathy Hirsh, and Adam Cavan). 7pm is the start time.

Wednesday, November 25
Fourth Wednesday English dance at GNC; Alisa Dodson calls to the music of Charlie Hancock, Allen Dodson and David Strong.

Friday, November 27
Stuffed from Thanksgiving? The San Francisco contra at SF may be just the ticket--Charlie Fenton calls, with music by The Crackerjacks (Chuck Aronson, Sylvia Herold, Paul Kotapish, and Chris Lewis) .

Saturday, November 28
Three dances to close out the month--the experienced English dance at GNC features Anise Feldman and music by Mark Carroll, David Strong and Judy Linsenberg...

... and up in Fairfax, the contra at FCC headlines Stuart Moody, with music by The Sweet Potatoes (David Rosenfield, Ben Buttner, and Matthew Glynn) ...

... whilst The Palo Alto contra at PA observes the traditional No Turkey Dessert Potluck, with a dance featuring Jim Saxe and The Crackerjacks (Chuck Aronson, Sylvia Herold, Paul Kotapish, and Chris Lewis) .
