BET--Bethany United Methodist Church, 1268 Sanchez (at Clipper), San Francisco. 2nd Saturday English dance, 7:30pm.
ECV--El Cerrito Veterans' Hall, 6401 Stockton at Kearney, El Cerrito. 2nd and 4th Sundays East Bay Square/Contra dance, 7pm
FCC--Fairfax Community Church, 2398 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Fairfax. 4th Saturday contradances
FIN--Finn Hall, 1819 Tenth Street (near Hearst, off University), Berkeley. 2nd Friday contradances

Wednesday, March 1
First up this month is the Berkeley contra at GNC; series host Erik Hoffman calls, with music by an Open Band led by New Hampshire band Dronie Random (Mark Boggie, Kari Larson, Larry Siegel).

In San José at SJS, Jody McGeen & Alan Winston join forces to teach, with music by Kay Thorne & Stan Kramer.

Friday, March 3
The first Friday Palo Alto English dance at MT, Bob Fraley calls to the music of Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer, Mark Daly and Paul Kostka) .

Saturday, March 4
March forth to the San Francisco contra at SF. Charlie Fenton is your caller with tunes by Dronie Random (Mark Boggie, Kari Larson, Larry Siegel) from New Hampshire.

Sunday, March 5
Special Peninsular Playford Workshop in Palo Alto at MT, 3 to 6 pm, $7. This is the second workshop to cover all the Playford Ball dances, and it features Bob Fraley calling, with music by Ruth Anne Fraley and Stan & Susan Kramer.

Wednesday, March 8
There's a dance every Wednesday at GNC in Berkeley, and tonight's is English: David Newitt calling with an Open Band led by Jon Berger, Dan Reynolds, Mark Carroll.

Friday, March 10
A fine Friday contra in Berkeley at FIN--Kirston Koths calls, to the tunes of the The Contra Bandits (Kathrine Gardner, Chris Knepper, Charlie Hancock, and Kit Nelson)

Saturday, March 11
Second Saturday, so there's a contra in Palo Alto at PA Jim Saxe will call to a new band made up of veteran musicians: A Couple of Couples (Kevin Carr, Robin Flower, Libby McLaren, and Barbara Mendelsohn).

The monthly SF English dance at BET (Noe Valley district, and convenient to transit!). Nearby neighbor Lise Dyckman leads the dance, with music by a trio of South Bay musicians: Stan & Susan Kramer, and Bill Jensen.

Sunday, March 12
& The East Bay square/contra starts at 7pm in El Cerrito at ECV. Your host: Jim Saxe, your band: Stump Tail Dog (Dan Engle & Ray Frank).

Wednesday, March 15
It is a third Wednesday, so a contra in Berkeley at GNC. Jim Saxe calls, with an Open Band led by Three O'Clock Shadow (Erik Hoffman, Chris Grampp and Adam Cavan).

While down in San José, at SJS, Lise Dyckman calls, with music by the delightful duo of Kay Thorne & Stan Kramer.

Friday, March 17
and more! Friday marks the first evening BACDS Spring Dance Weekend Camp at "MON". Staff includes Tony Parkes, Mary Devlin, Bruce Hamilton: Dances includes: contras, squares, couple dances, English country, beginning Cotswold Morris & more. Great music by KGB from Seattle--Julie King, Claude Ginsburg and Dave Bartlet from Seattle & Footloose from NC. For more info call 650-326-3665; web pointer a-comin' soon! Saturday, March 18
It's the San Francisco contra at SF, with Ken Olcott calling, to the marvelous music of Luceo (Lee Anne Welch, John Light, and Rebecca King)

Wednesday, March 22
the Berkeley English dance at GNC features Lise Dyckman calling to a mighty Open Band led by Chuck Ward, Judy Linsenberg, and Avis Minger.

Friday, March 24
Fourth Friday San Francisco contra at SF, with caller Erik Hoffman and tunes by Swing Farm (Ray Bierl, Charlie Hancock & Steven Strauss).

The final Playford Ball rehearsal (the traditional "run through the dances and see who's coming from out of town" dance the night before the ball itself). It's in north San Mateo at "SMT", with many callers and music by those fine finny friends The Guppies (Kathrine Gardner, Jim Oakden and Craig Johnson) It starts at 7 pm and will cost you $8.

Saturday, March 25
[3/20]The good news, is that the Playford Ball is tonight; the bad--it's sold out, sorry.

There's also a great contra in Palo Alto at PA, with Kirston Koths calling and fine Irish music by Tipsy House (Jack Gilder, Chris Knepper and Junji Shirota).

Up in Fairfax, you can check out the dance at FCC with caller Warren Blier and music by Chip Curry, Debra Tayleur, and Rick D'Onofrio

The fourth Saturday Berkeley English dance has been CANCELLED Follow the White Rabbit to the Playford Ball!

Sunday, March 26
& After all those dances, we still offer you one the next day! Check out the El Cerrito square/contra at ECV. It starts at 7pm and features Erik Hoffman calling with a hot Open Band led by Kathrine Gardner, Maxine Gerber & Dan Warrick

Wednesday, March 29
Way down south in San José, at SJS, there'll be a fifth Wednesday English dance with Jody McGeen calling to the tunes of Kay Thorne & Stan Kramer. Always worth the trek!

...and a Berkeley contra at GNC. As is customary with 5th Wednesdays, it's an Open Callers' Night with music by an Open Band led by Erik Hoffman, John Light & friend

Friday, March 31
Hey, a fifth Friday, so come on by MT in Palo Alto for an English dance! Bob Fraley calling, and music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer, Mark Daly and Paul Kostka) .
