BET--Bethany United Methodist Church, 1268 Sanchez (at Clipper), San Francisco. 2nd Saturday English dance, 7:30pm.
ECV--El Cerrito Veterans' Hall, 6401 Stockton at Kearney, El Cerrito. 2nd and 4th Sundays East Bay Square/Contra dance, 7pm
FCC--Fairfax Community Church, 2398 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Fairfax. 4th Saturday contradances

JUNE

Friday, June 2
The first BACDS dance this month is the Palo Alto English dance at MT. Stalwart series host Bob Fraley leads the dance, with music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer, Mark Daly and Paul Kostka) .

Saturday, June 3
The ever-popular San Francisco contra at SF! Charlie Fenton calls, with music by the wonderful Hillbillies From Mars (Ray Bierl, Kevin Carr, Paul Kotapish, & Daniel Steinberg).

Wednesday, June 7
A special treat at the Berkeley contra at GNC--Patti Smolian makes one of her rare calling appearances, with music by an Open Band led by Three O'Clock Shadow (Erik Hoffman, Chris Grampp and Adam Cavan).

Next to last chance to catch the San José English dance at SJS before it æstivates. Series hostess Jody McGeen calling the dance to music by Stan Kramer and Bill Jensen.

Friday, June 9
The once-a-month Friday Berkeley contra at FIN. Kirston Koths is your caller, with music by special guest band The Wildcats (Todd Silverstein, Sue Songer, Lanny Martin (Portland, OR)).

Saturday, June 10
The monthly San Francisco English dance starts at 7:30pm at BET in the Noe Valley district, featuring a fine trio from the North Bay: Lydee Scudder teaching, with music by Jon Berger and Mark Carroll.

And the second Saturday contra in Palo Alto at PA features caller Erik Weberg (from Portland) with music by The Wildcats (Todd Silverstein, Sue Songer, Lanny Martin (Portland, OR)).

Sunday, June 11
& BACDS' Square and Contra dance in El Cerrito at ECV starts at 7pm, and features caller Erik Hoffman with great music supplied by the trio of Kathrine Gardner, Brendan Doyle and Dan Warrick.

Wednesday, June 14
English dancing in Berkeley? Why, yes, at GNC, with series host David Newitt calling, tunes by Craig Johnson, David Strong and Judy Linsenberg.

Friday, June 16
The third-Friday English dance in downtown Palo Alto at MT, guest caller Lise Dyckman, with music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer, Mark Daly and Paul Kostka) .

Saturday, June 17
The final stop in the BACDS leg of their tour is at the contra in SF Erik Weberg, caller from Portland, joins forces with The Wildcats (Todd Silverstein, Sue Songer, Lanny Martin (Portland, OR)).

Wednesday, June 21
The final San José English dance until September at SJS, as Jody McGeen & friends take the stage to call, music by Stan Kramer, Ruth Anne Fraley. They'll return the first Wednesday in September...

While up in Berkeley at GNC, there's a wonderful contradance with Charlie Fenton calling, music by an Open Band led by Luceo (Lee Anne Welch, John Light, and Rebecca King).

Friday, June 23
The 4th Friday contra at SF. Charlie Fenton, your series host, calls, with music by Rebecca King, John Light and Ray Bierl.

Saturday, June 24
Fourth Saturdays are the most crowded day on the BACDS calendar, and what choices... in Berkeley at GNC the experienced English countrydance features Lise Dyckman teaching with music by Avis Minger & friends.

And in Palo Alto at the contra at PA Eric Black, who spends much of his time in Tokyo nowadays, calls, and the band is Faultline (Betsy Branch, Paul Kotapish and Bobbi Nikles, with Maureen Brennan on harp), a great group who hasn't made an appearance in a few years.

In Fairfax, at the contra at FCC, guest caller Erik Hoffman presides, with tunes by the talented Ray Bierl and Rebecca King.

Sunday, June 25
& The fourth Sunday Square/Contra at ECV starts at 7pm and features Jim Saxe calling with an Open Band led by The Earls (Ray Bierl, Carolyn Cirimele, Marty Cutler, and Mary Gibbons) .

Wednesday, June 28
A powerful evening of English country in Berkeley at GNC as Alan Winston, a wonderful caller who presided over this year's Playford Ball, appears with three of the mightiest English country musicians we have here in the Bay Area: Chuck Ward, David Strong, and Jon Berger.

Friday, June 30
Finally, wrapping up the month and this quarter's dances, special guest caller Bruce Hamilton appears at the Palo Alto English dance at MT, music by the house faves Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer, Mark Daly and Paul Kostka) .
