Friday, July 2
Start your July off right with this 1st Friday English dance in downtown Palo Alto at MT, featuring Bob Fraley and Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer, Mark Daly and Paul Kostka).

Saturday, July 3
The San Francisco contra at (you guessed it) SF features your genial series host Charlie Fenton with music by the dynamic duo of Ray Bierl and Craig Johnson.

Family Week kicks off this afternoon and runs through Saturday the 10th near Kings' Canyon Park in the Sierra Foothills above Fresno. It's a great week for dancers of all ages, with contra, English, and ritual dance, swimming, canoeing, s nging, crafts, and... well, go see the blurb on our index page or download the PDF brochure.

Wednesday, July 7
It's still a first Wednesday, so you can contra in Berkeley at GNC. Elizabeth Douglas is your caller, and there's an Open Band led by Ingrid Noyes, Michael Harmon, Danny Carnahan.

Friday, July 9
The Berkeley Friday contra at FIN with an all-star cast from around the US: caller Cis Hinkle (Atlanta GA), and music by the wonderful trio of Tim Cape (Atlanta GA), Laura Light (Charlottesville VA), Daniel Steinberg (local, but renowned throughout the land!).

Saturday, July 10
The Palo Alto contra (at PA) has local fave Kirston Koths calling to an all star band of ex- and current Northwesterners George Penk, Clyde Curley (both from Portland OR), Paul Kotapish (one of the few musicians who moved here from Seattle!).

The SF English dance at BET in Noe Valley, with caller David Newitt and Stan and Susan Kramer and friends. Take public transit if you can (the 48, 24 and J Church all run a few blocks away), the dance starts at 7:30.

Sunday, July 11
& It's a second Sunday, so it's the square/contra in El Cerrito at ECV, starting at 7pm. Your series host Jim Saxe calls, with music by Lee Anne Welch, John Light & Friend.

Wednesday, July 14
Did you know there's community dancing every Wednesday at GNC? It's English tonight, with Lise Dyckman calling to music by David Mostardi, Judy Linsenberg Laurie Edelman.

Friday, July 16
The Palo Alto English dance at the downtown MT, with Bob Fraley and music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer, Mark Daly and Paul Kostka).

Saturday, July 17
The third Saturday contra at SF, with caller Tom Roby, and featuring the BACDS debut of Luceo (Lee Anne Welch, John Light, and Rebecca King).

Wednesday, July 21
Berkeley contra at GNC, with series host Erik Hoffman and an Open Band led by Ragged but Right (Margaret & Alan Davis, Meg Hoffman, Rob Hoyt (San Bernadino area))

Friday, July 23
A San Francisco contra at SF , with Charlie Fenton and music by the fine trio of The U-Hauls (Charlie Hancock, Chris Knepper, Jim Oakden).

Saturday, July 24
BACDS' only Marin county dance series, the Fairfax contra at FCC, features caller Tom Thoreau and music by The Nickles Family (Bobbi, Roland, & Kayla).

... while down in Palo Alto at PA, caller Eric Black, from Tokyo, joins the The Contrabandits (Kathrine Gardner, Chris Knepper, Charlie Hancock, and Kit Nelson).

[7/24] The Berkeley experienced dance at GNC features Lise Dyckman, and music by Shira Kammen, David Newitt, and Craig Johnson.

Sunday, July 25
& The fourth Sunday Square/Contra in El Cerrito at ECV starts at 7pm, with series host Jim Saxe and Open Band led by dotGals (Susan Sullivan, Dan & Karen Warrick, and Adam Cavan).

Wednesday, July 28
Berkeley English dance at GNC. Alan Winston makes a rare calling appearance, with music by Laurie Edelman, David Mostardi, and Chuck Ward.

Friday, July 30
The Palo Alto English dance at the downtown MT, with Bob Fraley and music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer, Mark Daly and Paul Kostka).

Saturday, July 31
We close out the month with a contradance at PA, Eric Black with music by Sidesaddle (Lee Anne Welch, Jerry Ashford, Kim Elking, Beth McNamara, & Dave Ristrom).
